Welcome!

Welcome to our wedding website! We are so excited to celebrate with all of you.

How We Met

In December 2018, we were both scrolling through Bumble and came across each other's profiles. As we read through the profiles we realized that our paths had crossed before when we both attended Abilene Christian University. While we ran in similar circles, and we knew of each other, we never actually connected or got to know one another. When we finished reading each other’s profiles, we made the bold move to swipe right on each other. After a few days of messaging, Matthew made a move and asked Jessica out to dinner.

Our First Date

Matthew made a reservation at a restaurant called Nerdvana in Frisco. Why he thought a restaurant with some sort of gaming system at each table would be appropriate for a first date is beyond both of us; we think he thought if there were any awkward silences we could at least have something to do. When he saw her in person for the first time, he immediately thought "she is wayyyy out of my league." Jessica thought that he had a winning smile, pretty eyes, and could tell that he was VERY nervous. As the night progressed, it was clear there was a good connection and a wonderful dinner and conversation was had. As he walked her out to her car, he remember thinking... “this was so fun and I would love to do it again, but there is no way she would agree to a second date”. To his surprise, when he asked to see her again, she replied with "I would love to see you again as well."

The Proposal

Matthew surprised Jessica with a special dinner and proposal at one of their favorite restaurants in Dallas, after attending a Halloween themed candlelight concert at the Frontiers of Flight Museum. Matthew had his the surprise from Jessica for at least two months, which if you know her is hard to do!

When We Knew it was Forever

A few weeks after dating we were spending time at Jessica's apartment and as Matthew was getting ready to leave to go back to his home in McKinney, he leaned in to give her a kiss goodbye and tried to say "I love this" (as in being her boyfriend and getting to spend time with one another), but instead what came out of his mouth was "I Love You... I mean this." He turned bright red and ran away as quickly as he could thinking that he had totally pulled a Ted Mosby and told her he loved her too soon. Thankfully, she did not let that stop her from continuing to get to know him They continued to date and 6 months later Matthew and Jessica took a trip to Big Bend National Park for Memorial day weekend and had a primitive camping experience, where Jessica told him, under the starry sky that she loved him back!
